## Update software

To ensure your Revolut Terminal has the latest features and security updates, you can manually trigger an update check by restarting the device twice.

### Install updates

To update your Revolut Terminal:

1. Restart your Terminal device twice in succession.
1. During the second restart, the Terminal will automatically check for available updates.
1. If updates are available, they will be downloaded and installed automatically.
1. The Terminal will be ready to use once the update process is complete.

:::tip
Your Terminal is set to receive updates automatically when connected to the internet. Manual updates are only necessary if you need to ensure you have the latest version immediately.
:::

## Pay at Counter

Pay at Counter enables your Revolut Terminal to accept payment intents pushed from integrated Point of Sale (POS) systems, including the Revolut POS app. When enabled, the terminal polls for payment requests from your POS software and displays them automatically.

:::note
This mode is required for:

- [Integration with Revolut POS app](/docs/guides/merchant/accept-payments/in-person-payments/pos/ios-app/hardware-settings#connect-devices)
- [3rd-party integration to push payments to Revolut Terminal](/docs/guides/merchant/accept-payments/in-person-payments/terminal/push-payments)
:::

### Enable Pay at Counter

To enable Pay at Counter on your terminal:

1. On the Revolut Terminal, go to :Menu: **More > Settings > Checkout**.
2. Toggle **Pay at Counter** to enable it.
3. The terminal will now poll for payment intents from your integrated POS system.

:::tip
When Pay at Counter is enabled, the terminal operates in a passive state, waiting for payment requests from your POS. It will not display the standard checkout screen until a payment intent is received.
:::

### Disable Pay at Counter

To return to standard terminal operation:

1. On the Revolut Terminal, go to :Menu: **More > Settings > Checkout**.
2. Toggle **Pay at Counter mode** to disable it.
3. The terminal will return to the standard checkout flow.
