# Manage payments

This section covers everything related to handling payments using your Revolut Reader, including processing transactions, handling refunds, and sending receipts.

## Take payments

Before accepting customer payments, ensure your Revolut Reader is set up and paired with your device.

  1. Go to the :Cart: **Merchant** tab and tap on :Plus: **New**.
  1. Select :CardReader: **Card reader** as the payment method.
  1. You'll see the order screen. Define the amount to charge or add products to the cart from your catalogue.
  1. Tap **`Charge`** once the cart is ready.
  1. Optionally, your customers can add a tip. Tap **`Continue`** when ready.
  1. Your customer can now tap or insert their card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) or use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay to complete the transaction.

  1. Swipe to your Pro account and tap on :PriceTag: **New sale**.
  1. Select :CardReader: **Card reader** as the payment method.
  1. You'll see the order screen. Define the amount to charge or add products to the cart from your catalogue.
  1. Tap **`Charge`** once the cart is ready.
  1. Optionally, your customers can add a tip. Tap **`Continue`** when ready.
  1. Your customer can now tap or insert their card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) or use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay to complete the transaction.

### Edit the cart

1. On the order overview screen, tap :Cart: in the bottom-left corner to view added items.
1. Tap on an item and select :Delete: to remove it.
1. Or, tap the **`Clear`** option on the top right to clear the cart entirely.

### Enable tipping

During the payment flow, after tapping **`Charge`**, a tip selection screen will appear. Customers can select a predefined percentage, enter a custom value, or skip the tip.

To accept tips during a payment, you need to enable the feature:

  1. Go to the :Cart: **Merchant** tab and tap on :Menu:.
  1. Select **Devices :CardReader: > :Gear: Settings > Tipping**.
  1. Enable the feature and define the 3 default tip percentages.

  1. Swipe to your Pro account and tap on :MoreIOs: **More**.
  1. Select :Gear: **Settings > Tipping**.
  1. Enable the feature and define the 3 default tip percentages.

### Take payments in different currencies

Revolut allows you to charge customers in multiple currencies. To charge in a different currency:

1. Ensure the cart only contains custom items (the catalogue does not support multiple currencies per transaction).
1. Tap the arrow next to the amount field and select the desired currency.
1. Proceed with the transaction as usual.

## Send receipts

After a payment is completed, you can provide a receipt to your customer in the following ways:

1. On the payment confirmation screen, select **Share receipt**, then you have the following options:
   - Show the QR code on your screen for the customer to scan, which opens the receipt directly.
   - Select **Share link** to send the receipt via apps like WhatsApp, email, or text message.
2. To resend a receipt:
   - Go to the transaction list, locate the transaction, and tap **Send receipt**.

## Issue refunds

You can issue full or partial refunds directly from the Revolut app.

  1. Go to the :Cart: **Merchant** tab in the Revolut Business app.
  1. Locate and select the transaction, then tap **`Refund`**.
  1. Enter the amount to refund (full or partial).
  1. Confirm the refund. The amount will be deducted from your Merchant pocket.

  1. Swipe to your Pro account in the Revolut app.
  1. Locate and select the transaction, then tap **`Refund`**.
  1. Enter the amount to refund (full or partial).
  1. Confirm the refund. The amount will be deducted from your Merchant pocket.

Transaction fees are non-refundable. Refunds can only be processed if sufficient funds are available in your Merchant of Revolut Pro pocket.

## Withdraw funds

:::note
This only applies to Revolut Business users. With Revolut Pro you can access your funds directly from your Pro pocket, or move money between your pockets.

To access the funds in your Merchant pocket, you need to transfer them to your Revolut Business account.

1. Go to the :Cart: **Merchant** tab and tap on :ArrowDown: **Payout**
1. Enter the amount and select the destination pocket.
1. Confirm the withdrawal. The funds will be credited to your account.
