# 1. Sign up for Revolut Business account

The [Business API](/docs/api/business) is available only to Revolut Business account holders.
To start using the API in a production environment, you must [sign up for a Revolut Business account](https://business.revolut.com/signup).

:::tip [Try first, sign up later]

To try the Business API in a test environment without signing up for a real Revolut Business account, skip this step for now and [create a Sandbox account](/docs/guides/manage-accounts/get-started/prepare-sandbox-environment).

After you sign up for a real account, you can still use the Sandbox account to test your solution before pushing it to production.

The Sandbox and production accounts are **not connected** in any way, so make sure you use the appropriate credentials for each.
