# Disbursements

Endpoints for sending money from your merchant account to your customers, such as payouts of winnings or refunds of deposits.

A disbursement sends funds to a customer's card or Revolut Pay account, either with raw card details or with a payment method previously saved for the customer. To check whether a card or saved payment method can receive disbursements before sending funds, use the [Check card details](https://developer.revolut.com/docs/api/merchant#check-card-details) operation. To link a disbursement to the customer's original payment, provide `initial_payment_id`.

A disbursement is asynchronous: it moves through the `pending`, `processing`, `completed`, and `declined` states, and you can track state changes with the `DISBURSEMENT_COMPLETED` and `DISBURSEMENT_DECLINED` webhook events. Card schemes can also reverse a completed disbursement; such reversals are returned as disbursement refunds, announced with the `DISBURSEMENT_REFUND_COMPLETED` webhook event.

:::warning
Disbursements are available to merchants with the gambling merchant category code (MCC 7995) only.
